Laurel Aspegren

Laurel Aspegren is pursuing an MA in French and Francophone Studies. She previously graduated from University of Kansas with a BA in French, Francophone, and Italian Studies. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she completed theses in French and Italian, exploring her principal research interests: dialectology, historical linguistics, and literary translation. She continues to study Italian and is currently researching works of autofiction and historical fiction produced by four Italian female writers. With the TAPIF program, she worked as an English Language Assistant Teacher in Savoie for the 2022-23 school year. Laurel’s other interests include second language pedagogy and gender studies of the Middle Ages.
