Biography —
Andrea graduated from the University of Kansas with a master's degree in French in 2013. She lived in Paris for 5 years working as a teacher at an innovative elementary school where children are trained in eco-citizenship and non-violent communication. While in Paris, she also attended the Ecole Supérieure d'Interprètes et de Traducteurs, where she received a certificate in translation. She went on to translate for many years for a variety of organizations including perfume houses, fashion magazines, government agencies and consulting firms. Upon returning to the United States, she transitioned into the localization industry managing teams localizing apps for companies such as DoorDash, Lyft, T-Mobile, Disney, etc. Andrea returned to Kansas in 2021 and developed a new passion for native prairie ecosystems and she now volunteers her time working to restore native prairies in rural Kansas. She also works as Director of Communications at Coneflower Consulting, a company that supports local non-profits and mission-driven organizations. She lives with her husband in rural Lawrence on a farm with donkeys, goats, chickens, pigs, two dogs and a cat
