Christine Bourgeois comes to the University of Kansas after completing her doctoral work at Princeton University in May 2014. Her primary area of specialization is the Old French and Occitan literature of the medieval period, with a particular focus on the dynamics of intertextual exchange within medieval narrative culture. Her research interests include the history of authorship, relationships between medieval themes and modern texts, intersections of the secular and the sacred, and literary representations of saintliness.
