Ousmane Lecoq Diop

Ousmane Lecoq Diop is a third year Ph.D. candidate in French and Francophone Studies at the University of Kansas. He is a native of Senegal in West Africa.
Ousmane has taught French in High School for 13 years and holds a master’s degree in French from the University of North Texas. He is interested in exploring the status and future of French language and culture in Africa, particularly in West Africa, and its correlations with identity, immigration, and economic Issues.
Ousmane enjoys spending time with his French wife Patricia a 5th year French high school’s teacher and their 3 years old boy Ibrahima Miguel Daouda. He also enjoys officiating soccer games as well as playing tennis.
