Matthew Dunn is a first-year MA student and GTA in the Department of French, Francophone, and Italian Studies. He earned his B.A. in History and Co-Major in European Studies from KU in 2018. He is fascinated by the relationship between language and national/cultural identity, particularly in Belgium. His honors thesis in history focused on the role that the Belgian clandestine press played in supporting a Belgian identity during the German occupation in World War I.
Matthew is also a staunch proponent of Chicago-style citations, much to the chagrin of his MLA-trained peers.
